The Wine Pub

The Wine Pub | Official

For handpicked wines, handcrafted foods, a beautiful outdoor, dog-friendly patio, and plenty of GF options for dinner and dessert, head to the Wine Pub in the Village of Point Loma. Sandy Hanshaw, owner of this wine bar, restaurant, and outdoor lounge says that “although our restaurant isn’t dedicated to folks that are gluten-free, we ensure that we have an entire menu separate for those that have the allergy. When handling orders that have allergy specific requests, we change gloves, use parchment paper, clean utensils and do our best to manage all cross contamination.”

The Wine Pub | Official

“When we opened The Wine Pub almost a decade ago, we wanted a place that brings all neighbors, friends and pets together for a simply elegant dining experience in a cozy environment. A home away from home, if you will. To do this, we had to make sure our little home here in Point Loma Village made everyone feel welcome and we recognized that many have allergies, so we adapted pretty early on.”

The Wine Pub | Official

Sandy’s favorite gluten-free option on the menu is the bruschetta on gluten free crackers. Long before The Wine Pub was born, Sandy was regularly creative with the tapas she would serve while sipping on wine in the evening with her husband. The dish comes with four gluten free crackers topped with: Fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil pesto and balsamic; Roasted artichoke spread with roasted bell pepper; Fig jam, brie, fresh apple and prosciutto; Cranberry, goat cheese and walnuts. Other GF favorites, that can each be perfectly paired with a customer’s choice of red or white wine, include:
